Preparing for you

Oh sweet girl we are so ready to meet you! In less then 60 days we will finally get to put our hands on you and shower you with love and kisses. Your brothers and I talk about you everyday and they are already in love with you!

In the meantime, we are getting your room ready.  Elle loaned you some of her precious things so you'll be fashionably  dressed for sure!  Hudson has been a real helper and has taking a liking to organizing the goodies from the bins. And he's pretty good at it!

Going through Elle's stuff Hudson says "she is so nice" I say "who" he says "Elle"!

He decides these are best displayed in a drawer. He stacks each pair side by side and begins to sort the socks. I added a basket to catch the socks and he says "well that's a good idea!"

Later I find Hudson has carefully placed you some friends in your crib. He loves Daniel Tiger and thought you might too!

Ryker wanted to put a picture of him and Hudson in your nursery. He said if you wake up and don't know where you are at least you'll be able to see familiar faces. Xoxoxoxo

**update**
Hudson came into my bedroom smelling like a baby.  I said Hudson you smell like the baby's room have you been playing in there? "yes, I was laying out her clothes. I don't know if they are pants or a shirt."  He takes me in there and sure enough he is laying out all her clothes on the floor. Mostly onsies.

Math genius

In the car the other day:

Ryker: "hey mom, I figured something out"

Me: "ok what you got?"

Ryker: "if I add up all of our ages and include Cosmo we total 100!"

Me: "hmmm....let me get out my calculater....???"

Ryker: "You are 37, plus Daddy is 40. That's 77. Then I'm 7 and Hudson is 4, so 77 plus 11 is 88.  And Cosmo is 12, right? So that's 100!"

Me:  🤔

Back to School

It's only day 3 being back at school.

Here's what we know:

Both boys are spending this school year on the second floor.

We wrestle in our house (apparently)

Our goal: meet new friends

Hudson doesn't like to be alone...unless he's hiding. We couldn't find Hudson for a good ten minutes one morning. We were just about to "leave him" since he was making Ryker late until he finally emerged from under the bed.  He tells us he was hiding because I left him alone in the bathroom.

Everyone sleeps better in mommy's and daddy's bed.

Ryker would be at school at 7am if he could. He likes getting there early so he can play.

Hudson hasn't quite warmed up to his new class yet but tells me he's making happy choices.

Yaya is really good at covering books.

You can always count on mamma to get Ryker off the bus.

There is still a lot of built up energy to let out after a full day of class and recess.

Cafeteria serves better food then mommy. Especially on taco Tuesday's.

We are not morning people.

Our tennis pro

Rykers a natural. He doesn't quite love the game yet but he's definitely good at it. We'll stick with it and see what happens. Proud of this little guy!

Sweetness

I could watch him sleep all night. This little guy just passed out in our bed. We thought he was faking! But knew it was no joke when that nunu fell out and he stayed sleeping. Such a cute face! Stay small forever.

Forever young

At four and half I love that he still wants his "baby Elle". Although he also still wants his nunu and it's really time for that to go. But honestly it's all good with me! He will always be my baby.

I told him we needed to get a our new baby a Baby Elle.
Takes his nunu out,"We need to get her her own baby Elle. Wait what's Elle's last name?"
Thompson.
Takes his nunu out, "what's her middle name?"
Marie.
Thinks....goes back to playing iPad.

Maybe he's trying to give baby sister's Baby Elle a new name?

What I hear

"Mommy it's water day tomorrow. Going to be so fun."
Wakes up next morning.
"Mommy it's water today. Today is tomorrow!"

I sent pizza and Capri suns for his class. When I picked him up he said "mommy you didn't send enough juice. My friend wanted another juice and miss Rebecca said there isn't enough for everyone to have two. Next time you need to send more juice."

=/ Noted.

The B-I-B-L-E

Hudson asked me to read him the bible today. We started at the beginning with the story about God creating the world and everything in it each day. Hudson said "God did a lot! He needs to take a break!".

I'm loving here him sing his songs too.

Game night

After Christmas we got so many fun games and toys we've started doing regular nights. Our favorites are Uno, Candy land, Battleship and Sorry.  Boys also love making their own creations with magnets. I just love to see them play together!

Artist at work

Ryker drew this in his workbook and he was so impressed with himself he wanted me to take a picture. I was pretty impressed myself. He gets this talent from his daddy.

Hudson

Mamma took the boys to get their haircuts today at Liz. Hudson fell asleep in the chair. She told me another girl had to hold up his head so Liz could cut around his ears. Long day!!

Christmas reminders

EHudson knows all the Christmas carols!

Boys make me sing them Jingle Bells instead of Twinkle Twinkle before going to bed.

Hudson's favorite is Santa Claus is coming to town.  Today he asked me "so where does Santa Claus live anyway?"

They love love love waking up to find Bob

Ryker wasn't listening and Hudson told him "you better watch out. You better not pout. Cause Santa is coming to town."

Ryker's 1st grade Christmas play - he was a reader. We are so proud of him he was selected to be a reader! He had his lines quickly memorized. Hudson was checked out of school so he could attend. He was so excited to be there! He sang along to all the songs and tried mimicking the hand motions. Aunt Stephi and Elle came too. One of my favorite parts of the day was going early and helping his classmates get dressed before the play. Love.

They were very curious about reindeer food. If we put it on the grass in the front yard how do they eat it since they are supposed to land on the roof? And how are they going to land on the roofs in our neighborhood. They are pointy not flat. (daddy: they hover)

One evening Mamma took boys to Chickfila (has she lost her mind) then drove them around to see the Christmas lights. They loved it. One house has a Santa in the window and Ryker told mamma "I think he's real. I can see him taking down names!"  She bragged about how good they were.

Santa came to Hudson's school. He told me He didn't bring his sleigh or anything!

Hudson: "Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas! And what's your name? And what's your name? Here's your present. Here's your present. I am Santa Claus! Ho! Ho! Ho!" This absolutely cracked me up. Maybe you had to be there? Hysterical

BOB

Ryker found out Elle didn't have an elf so last night he left a note for bob to take to Santa. He thought it would be best to put it on the fireplace so Bob would see it when he leaves.

More Bob moments... Silly Bob!

Welcome home Bob!

Creative Bob

Sick Bob (boys been sick too)

Amazon Bob (Bob delivers!)

Friendly Bob

Traveling Bob visits Yaya's

Flying Bob

Traveling Circus Bob

Bob riding with us to school

Bob drinking chocolate milk or as Hudson called it "elf medicine".

4 more days until Christmas !!

Hudson gets up at 6am. Why do you get up so early?? "To find Bob". Oh goodness. What are we going to do Christmas morning? "Build a snowman!" No, that's not quite what I meant.

12/22/15
It's 10pm. Hudson is so excited (and so tired) he can't sleep. Eventually he negotiates his way into our bed. As I'm praying with him and singing him to sleep he says "can you tell Bob that we need a smaller tree that can fit a star on top. He needs to bring it back to the Christmas tree shop and get a smaller tree that can fit a star."  This goes on and on. I am now making a star to put on top our tree.

I'm so excited for him to wake up in the (very early) morning! One of our greatest accomplishments @jreeves.

Our bed bugs

They crashed on the sofa
Me brought them upstairs to their beds
Ryker came downstairs and climbed in next to me
20 minutes later Hudson came down and crawled in between me and Ryker
I'm sweating and to make room for myself I relocated to Justin's side
Good thing they are super cute

Dr. Reeves

It went something like this...

Hudson told me and Ryker tonight he wanted to be a doctor when he turns four.

Ryker: what kind of doctor Hudson? There are all kinds. An eye doctor, a kids doctor...

Hudson: I want to help get aunt stephies baby out her belly. Her baby boy.

Me: oh you want to deliver babies!

Hudson: yes. When I'm four.

Miracles.

Hudson softly rested his hand on aunt stephies belly tonight to feel his new little cousin move. It was the sweetest. He was smiling ear to ear and very talkative about his excitement.

When we got in the car to go home, we were still talking about our new baby.

(Please note the entire conversation below was done with Rykers head down playing the game on the iPad.)

Ryker: "How do they get the baby out of there?"

Me: "well they have a tiny whole they make near her belly  that the doctor opens and stretches and they are able to pull the baby out. It's truly a miracle!"

Ryker (in a low deep very serious voice not looking up from the iPad): "whoa. Oh gosh. I'm glad I'm not a girl!!

"And so then what, how do they close the hole? That must hurt!"

Hudson (takes his nunnie out to chime in): "yeah, I bet she cries!"

Me: "well God takes a lot of the pain away. The hole closes back up sometimes by itself. Babies really are a miracle."

Ryker: "whoa. I'm really glad I'm not a girl!"

Potty training

(My apologies in advance for all the potty talk this post)

Hudson keeps going to potty this morning. I know he needs to poo poo but instead he just tee tees. On the 4th time on the potty I asked him "where's the poo poo Hudson" and he answers "it's sleeping"

Me: "well let's wake it up"
Hudson (in a whisper) : "no we have to be quiet"

Ok Hudson. You win. So I go into my own room and proceed to get dressed for the day.

A few minutes later...enter Hudson.

"Mommy I have poo poo"

"In your pants?"

Nods.

"Ok let's go clean it"

Hudson: "you wash it for me mommy?"

"Yes"

Hudson (dramatically): "Aw thank you mommy!"

We go into the bathroom and I strip him down expecting one large lump but instead find more of a lumpy yucky mess  in his paw patrol undies.

I wash his hinnie (is that how you spell hinnie?) and proceed to explain to him that I will have throw his underwear away.

Complete breakdown.

"I don't want to throw it away. I don't want to throw it away!"  Over and over. And over.

I was standing firm until it dawns on me he had asked before if I would wash it. Now I'm realizing he was asking about washing his underwear.

I feel bad now. I grab his soiled undies out of the trash and (gag) attempt to get the mounds of mushy poop out (gag). Even disgusting for his own mom!  The whole time he's saying "thank you mommy".

And now it's 7:30am. Good morning!
